This Privacy Policy explains how Long Chat Booster for ChatGPT ("Long Chat Booster", "we", "our", or "the extension"), operated by yuchen, handles information when you use the Chrome extension.

Summary

  • We do not collect, store, upload, sell, or share your ChatGPT conversation text.
  • The extension processes lightweight message metadata locally in your browser.
  • Settings, usage counters, license key/status, and optimization statistics are stored locally using Chrome storage.
  • Payments and license management are handled by Freemius, our payment and licensing provider.

Information Processed Locally

To improve performance in long ChatGPT conversations, the extension may inspect message-related page metadata such as message order, role, approximate element height, visibility state, and whether a message is currently streaming. This metadata is used locally to decide which old message elements can be temporarily hidden or restored.

The extension does not send ChatGPT message content, prompts, responses, files, or conversation text to our servers.

Chrome Storage

The extension may store the following data in chrome.storage.local:

  • Extension settings, such as enabled state, language, Quiet Mode, and visible message limits.
  • Daily free usage counters.
  • Local optimization statistics, such as rendered/hidden message counts and last optimization time.
  • License information, such as license key, license status, installation ID, local installation UID, and validation time.

This data is stored on your device by Chrome and is used to operate the extension.

Payments and Licensing

Long Chat Booster uses Freemius to process purchases, license activation, license validation, license deactivation, invoices, and related transactional emails. When you buy or activate Pro, information you provide to Freemius is governed by Freemius' own policies and terms.

The extension communicates with Freemius only for checkout and license management. We do not include a Freemius secret key in the extension.

Permissions

The extension uses Chrome permissions only for its stated functionality:

  • storage: stores local settings, counters, statistics, and license information.
  • activeTab: checks the current tab context for popup behavior.
  • chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com: runs the performance optimizer on ChatGPT pages.
  • api.freemius.com: optional permission requested only when activating or deactivating a license.

Third-Party Services

The extension uses Freemius for payment processing and license management. We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party services to monitor your ChatGPT conversation content.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We do not share ChatGPT conversation text because the extension does not collect it.

Data Retention

Local extension data remains in Chrome storage until you reset extension settings, deactivate the license, or uninstall the extension. Freemius retains purchase and licensing records according to its own policies and applicable legal requirements.

Children's Privacy

Long Chat Booster is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
